Elo TouchSystems Introduces New Multi-Function Integrated Casino TouchmonitorFremont, California — September 16, 2003 — Elo TouchSystems, Inc., the global leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, today announces a new 1229L 12" Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) multi-function integrated touchmonitor. Following on the success of its 1525L 15" LCD touchmonitor with built-in magnetic stripe reader (MSR), the new 1229L includes options for a three-track MSR, a rear-facing customer LED display, and a biometric fingerprint-recognition device. The 1229L multifunction integrated touchmonitor efficiently saves valuable space on the casino work areas and is fully configurable for a variety of applications including casino pit management, cash cage, player tracking, casino table management, and customer loyalty programs. The 1229L is available with a choice of optimized Elo touch technologies: IntelliTouch surface-wave, AccuTouch five-wire resistive, and CarrollTouch infrared. In advance of its formal release, Elo's new 1229L LCD multifunction casino touchmonitor will be previewed and available for demonstration in booth #673 at the Global Gaming Expo 2003, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada from September 16 to 18, 2003.

Reduced Components Mean Cleaner Installation

"The 1229L is a continuation of Elo's commitment to increased value in new products," says Paul Wiener, Elo's marketing manager. "Its multi-function options are integrated ergonomically into the housing and designed to flow with the elegant styling of the monitor. We have reduced the number of peripheral communication and power cables in order to ensure space-saving simplicity, and clean, easy efficient installation. The addition of the 1229L multi-function integrated touchmonitor establishes Elo as the single point of contact for one of the broadest ranges of designed-for-touch casino and gaming touchmonitors."

The new 1229L 12" LCD multifunction integrated touchmonitor provides a supremely versatile tool for applications across the gaming floor from casino pit management through cash cage to casino security. "The rear-facing display gives the customer immediate visual confirmation of the transaction. And the biometric fingerprint-recognition device provides unparalleled security for employee log-in and all types of system access." According to Mark Bolt, Elo's product manager, the 1229L LCD display, combined with the customer's choice of Elo's touch technologies, provides exceptional light-transmission rates to maintain image quality and color purity.
