Elo Launches New Touchscreens for Gaming Applications at ATEI 2005 ExhibitionNew 17in LCD Touchmonitors and Super Flat Profile Touchscreens debut at London Show December 2004—Elo TouchSystems, Inc., the global leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, is launching numerous exciting gaming and amusement-oriented products on booth 1830 at the ATEI Exhibition, Earls Court, London, 25 to 27 January 2005 including new 17in rear-mount touchmonitors, a 30in touchmonitor for big screen impact, pioneering super flat profile (SFP) surface wave touchscreens, and the recently launched 1525L touchcomputer. Innovative products extending Elo's touch technology can also be seen for the first time in Europe, such as Elo's Media Table. On show is a new range of Super Flat Profile (SFP) touchscreens that extend the company's proven IntelliTouch pure glass surface wave touch technology. "Elo was the first in the world to introduce pure glass touchscreen technology for superior optics, reliability, stability and light transmission," says Mike Sigona, Elo market manager, Europe. "Now we take another step forward with our patented grating technology. The new IntelliTouch SFP touchscreens have the sensing transducers mounted on the back of the glass, making integration much easier." Elo's IntelliTouch SFP touchscreens use the company's patented grating technology to achieve distinct advantages; a true flat front surface that smooths out the bumps of integration, narrower borders around the active touch sensitive area and a new flat cabling system. All help enable the touchscreen to fit into tighter form factors than before. The IntelliTouch SFP touchscreen is the ideal choice for applications in the gaming and leisure markets. Expanded family of LCDsTwo new 17in rear mount LCD touchmonitors will also be on display, the 1749L featuring a wide viewing angle panel, and the 1746L with a lower spec panel. Elo has reduced the overall outside dimensions significantly in the new models by making use of clear glass IntelliTouch SFP touchscreens. The touchmonitors will be shown alongside Elo's existing family of 12.1, 15, 17 wide screen and 19in LCD chassis touchmonitors that feature a choice of Elo's touch technologies. The 1746L and 1749L touchmonitors have identical form factors, differing only in their panel specifications, offering customers a choice which they can easily pass on to their customers. All Elo chassis monitors feature a unique injection moulded minibezel with a watertight seal. Elo's 3020L 30in LCD picture-in-picture touchmonitor provides a massive viewable image, wide viewing angle (170 x 170 degrees) and 1280 x 768 resolution making it an ideal display for specialised gaming applications. The picture-in-picture presentations help to maximise the display's capabilities and attract crowds. It is available with Elo's IntelliTouch surface wave touch technology and serial or USB interfaces. All-in-one touchcomputerElo's recently announced silent, fanless all in one touchcomputer is also making its first UK appearance. Elo has drawn on its 30 years of design experience and the success of the 1525L 15in desktop touchmonitor to produce the space saving 1525L touchcomputer, that combines a touchmonitor with a computer in the space of a standard monitor. The 1525L touchcomputer includes a choice of Elo's industry leading IntelliTouch surface wave or AccuTouch five wire resistive touch technologies. Integrated options include a three track Magnetic Stripe Reader (MSR) and a rear facing customer display. The Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP versions of the 1525L touchcomputer include a hard drive; the Windows CE.NET version has solid state components with no moving parts. Applications for the new all in one touchcomputer include loyalty systems, kiosk information systems, home control, casino management, cash systems and Internet access points such as those for Web surfing and hotel reservations. Award winning designsElo is also demonstrating its distinctive Media Table at the exhibition, developed by Elo's Japanese engineering centre. Media Table embodies a new type of interface with a milky white glass table surface functioning as a computer display complete with integral touchscreen for users to manipulate. Texts and objects, free of the constraints of the rectangular frame, revolve on the surface as they emerge. Interactive designs, that enable multiple users around the table to see and touch the screen from any direction, have been configured with simultaneously developed hardware and software. Based on surface wave technology, Elo's Media Table offers an exciting range of opportunities in gaming applications and presentations. The 1229L multifunction touchmonitor, recognised by Casino Journal as one of the top 20 most innovative gaming products in 2003, will be shown with a casino loyalty application. The 1229L is available with integrated peripherals, including an ergonomically placed MSR, biometric fingerprint recognition device, and a rear-facing customer display. All are incorporated into the monitor housing and designed to flow with its elegant styling. Available with a choice of touch technologies, the 1229L is fully configurable for a variety of applications in the casino pit, cash cage and high security areas, as well as in bingo halls, where its compact design efficiently saves valuable work space as well as minimising connections. Elo's entire line of extremely cost-effective iTouch touch-on-tube CRTs widely used in gaming applications are also on display.
