December 2007 – Elo TouchSystems, a global leader in touch technology and a business unit of Tyco Electronics, will be showing a new range of chassis monitors in larger sizes and new fanless touchcomputers at the International Casino Exhibition (ICE 2008) from 22nd to 24th January at Earl's Court 1, London, UK. In addition the company will be rolling out its latest Acoustic Pulse Recognition (APR) touch technology across its entire gaming product line including the popular 1739L and 1939L models.

New "Mega Monitors" to meet bigger demands

Elo will be adding four new widescreen chassis touchmonitors to its gaming monitor line-up with 20", 22", 26" and 32" models being launched at the show. With trends in the market heading towards larger sizes and widescreen formats (26" and larger usually in portrait mode), standard gaming machines are now being enlarged to suit, and Elo's new family of mega monitors is poised to meet this growing demand. Models will be on display with Elo's IntelliTouch surface wave and APR touch technologies with capacitive versions also available. These large size monitors offer the same advantages as all other chassis touchmonitors from Elo. They have a long-lasting product cycle because the enclosure is controlled by Elo's specifications. Future panel improvements are therefore possible without external changes. Models feature super bright, wide viewing angle A-grade panels along with a unique, injection-moulded minibezel and virtually invisible watertight seal.

Latest Touch Technology across the range

Elo's most recent technology development – Acoustic Pulse Recognition (APR) – will be rolled out across the company's range of gaming monitors. To date APR has been shipping on 15" and 17" desktop monitors mainly aimed at POS applications but will now be added to the company's entire range including the popular gaming 1739L and 1939L monitors.

APR combines the benefits of all other major touch technologies – an all glass technology that works with fingernail touch (unlike surface wave and capacitive), offers the same optical quality as surface wave and features excellent dragging performance like capacitive. APR technology is also impervious to liquids and offers true flat screen capability making it ideal for use in bar top applications among many others.

Extended range of touchcomputers

Two new models of integrated touchcomputers will be exhibited at ICE. Elo touchcomputers integrate powerful computing power with full connectivity in the footprint of a monitor, with a choice of hard disk or embedded OS. Fanless and silent, they are ideal for casino management, bingo and point-of-sale applications.

The 17A2 model is an ultra-compact 17" all-in-one computer with scanner, DVD, wireless and biometric options and user installable peripherals. It can also be supplied with APR touch technology. The 15A1 model is a 15" value touchcomputer offering entry-level specifications.

Additional Highlights at Elo's Booth

Elo will also exhibit its standard gaming monitors – 1537L, 1739L and 1939L – to showcase the company's range of touch technologies – IntelliTouch surface wave, capacitive, SecureTouch surface wave anti-vandal and APR. A new desktop monitor – 1729L – will be shown plus the 1515L and a 19" desktop. The 1515L now has a field-installable magnetic stripe reader option enabling customers to add this peripheral themselves. Elo's touch technology solutions can be seen on the company's stand 3444 and Suzo's stand 3920.
